Peruvian Hearts works to enhance the lives of children, including orphans, living in poverty in Peru through improved nutrition, education, and healthcare. Peruvian Hearts fully supports the Hogar Mercedes de Jesus Molina orphanage in the hills of Cusco, Peru. Peruvian Hearts provides these 23 girls not only with their basic everyday needs, but private schooling, daily tutoring, music lessons, English lessons, and social services to help ensure each girl has a bright future.
Peruvian Hearts also provides a daily breakfast, lunch, and multivitamin to over 800 Peruvian children daily through our 'Nutrition for Change' programs. With four different NfC programs in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Colca Canyon, Peruvian Hearts is helping to fight malnutrition and overcome hunger. Many of the 800 children in these programs walk 2-3 hours each way to school everyday. Without the NfC programs, these children would continue to be malnurished and hungry during the school day.

Peruvian Hearts is currently in the middle of building a new kitchen at the primary school in the town of Lamay in the Sacred Valley.
Most recently at the school in the high Andean community of Pampallacta, where Peruvian Hearts supports a NfC program including 130 children, a clean water system was installed, which will serve not only the school, but the entire community. Also the construction of new bathrooms and volunteer quarters at the school were also recently completed. Peruvian Hearts plans to start the construction of a dining room and modern kitchen at the school by the fall of 2010.
